How did you come up with your derby name?

I further feminized Sleater-Kinney's song " I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone."

How and when did you get involved in roller derby?

Saw a mention that there was a roller derby league starting in St. Louis on stlstreets.com blog. Showed up at the next "practice" which was just a handful of girls putting on skates for the first time in 15 years at an open skate session at Rollercade trying to figure out how to get organized. That was November 2005.

Any serious injuries?

Broken tibia (Oct 2006). Other lesser injuries that haven't kept me off the track include torn rhomboid muscle, a couple haematomas, and a right hand that swelled up to twice its size.

Do you have a rival on the track?

Anyone I'm playing against. If you aren't hitting me hard, you're insulting me.

Favorite position to play?

On or off the track? Eh eh. I feel most confident in the back of the pack, and I prefer to start in what's commonly called "B2" although good replacement blocking and pack rotation and teamwork means you need to be able to be versatile and change roles quickly. You'll also probably see me jam more in 2009 for the M-80s like I did 2 seasons ago.

Worst penalty ever committed?

I work really hard to stay out of the box at bouts. Sometimes when I'm trying something new or testing my timing I'll end up getting blatant ones in practice. But that's why it's called practice.

Any pre-bout rituals?

In ARRG's 2nd season Shanghai used to tell me I played best when I had whiskey, wings and sex the night before bouts. I also like to be sure there's a tabloid with the headline, "Who's Gay? Who's Not?" hanging on the locker room door. The M-80s also usually get together the night before local bouts.

What kind of skates and wheels do you roll on?

Size 7 Riedell 265 boots
Powerdyne ALUMINUM lightweight plates (when I had nylon I cracked my plates the 2nd week)
Wheels = Atom/Answer G-Rods 2.0 (Pink) for practice. This past bout I tried Radar Mojos on the All American floor and liked them, but I hated them at our practice rink. I skated mostly on red Radar Tuners seasons 2-3 because they had just the right amount of grip at both spaces. I recommend those to our newbies a lot.

Most exciting moment in your derby career?

Obviously winning Fall Brawl last year was one, but the highlight of derby is when newbies I've coached get drafted and play in their first "big girl" bout.

Favorite derby player?

In ARRG = the Siege, Overland Offender, Eli Wallop. Other leagues = Malice With Chains (Windy City), Racer McChaseher (Detroit), Bruz Her (KC), Snot Rocket (retired, KC), Sparkle Plenty (retired, TX) and Princess American and her thong of power (Carolina).

What is your derby pet peeve?

Veteran skaters who don't know the rules.

Favorite adult bevie?

Whiskey & Coke
