TWO LOCAL TEAMS COMPLETE ROSTERS WITH DRAFT!

Three additional skaters were added to the local ARRG rosters via a supplemental draft held last Monday in St. Louis.

Drafts are held throughout the season to supplement rosters affected by skaters who have retired.

The defending champion M-80s opened eyes in the opening round by adding a veteran All-Star skater who recently announced her return to the flat-track.

Jammer/blocker Julia Ghoulia, who spent four seasons with the Smashinistas from 2006-09, was selected by the firecrackers. In her last fill-time tenure with the league, Ghoulia played blocker for the ARRG All-Stars for three consecutive seasons, beginning in 2006.

With their second pick, the M-80s selected blocker Stray Touhell, who skated this past summer with ARRG’s Fluer De-Liquents developmental travel squad. Touhell launched her career in 2011 with the St. Chux Derby Chix of St. Charles.

The Stunt Devils with their pick selected five-year derby vet Killer PAIN-guin, a transfer from the River Valley Roller Girls of Fort Smith, Arkansas. PAIN-guin has been training with the league since migrating to St. Louis earlier this year. PAIN-guin won RVRG’s Best Jammer Award in 2010.

The Smashinistas and Rebel Skate Alliance did not add to their rosters last Monday due to their line-ups being at full capacity.

Congratulations to ARRG’s recent draftees, who will see action at the league’s season-opening double header at Midwest Sport Hockey on Saturday, November 10.

ARRG’S C-TEAM PAIRS WITH SC/DC IN BOUT THIS SATURDAY!

Members of the ARRG’s C-team will join members of the St. Chux Derby Chix’s B-team this Saturday in St. Peters in the opening bout of a SC/DC double header.

The two squads, individually known as ARRG’s Fluer-De-Linquents and SC/DC’s Hell’s Belles, will collectively skate as the “Hell’s De-Linquents” in a match-up against the Destruction Dames, the b-team of Demolition City of Evansville, IN.

Saturday’s 6 PM bout takes prior to the main event of the evening, the inaugural WFTDA-sanctioned bout of the St. Chux Derby Chix Pack-In-Black as they face Demolition City’s Dynamite Dolls.

The double header takes place at Matteson Square Garden (3051 Industrial Park Place West, St. Peters, MO.) Tickets are $10 for general admission. Children under 10 get in free.  Save $2 on advance tickets purchased online at Brown Paper Tickets by visiting THIS LINK RIGHT HERE!

Members of ARRG who are tentatively on the roster of “Hell’s De-Linquents” as of press time: Vod KaKnockers, Warpath O. Jen, The Ginger Assassin, Bertha Venus, Deuce Bomber, Shacgyver, Sp!ce Rack and IDA the Living Dead.

The main event is historical in scope. Founded in 2009, the St. Chux Derby Chix is the latest addition to the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association’s North Central region.  They are currently unranked in the 40-team region while Demolition City is currently ranked #20.

A victory this Saturday night will certainly give St. Charles County’s best on quads an immediate launch up the rankings.

Come out to St. Peters this Saturday night and cheer on the locals!
