#4 ARRG ALL-STARS UPSET #3 NAPTOWN 115-99!

(BALLWIN, MO) One day after receiving its highest-ranking to date in the WFTDA North Central region, the Arch Rival Roller Girls All-Stars netted its most significant interleague victory in franchise history.

Utilizing a 38-0 second-period rally, ARRG – ranked fourth in the North Central – upset third-ranked Naptown 115-99 Saturday night at Midwest Sport Hockey in front of 700.

The victory was Arch Rival’s third straight and its first ever over a North Central #3.

Down 23-13 midway through the first half, ARRG punched home 26 straight points with back-to-back power jams. Black Market Baby’s seven-point strike at 13:15 was followed by Downtown Dallis’ 19-pointer two minutes later, resulting in a 39-23 lead change.

ARRG stretched the advantage to 53-30 at intermission.

Naptown would narrow the gap to 70-58 with 18:00 left in regulation, but ARRG went on a 38-0 run in the bout’s next four jams. Punctuated by South City Shiner’s 14-point power jam with 10:00 left, ARRG widened its lead to 108-58.

Naptown retaliated with a 31-0 run down the stretch, but Arch Rival was able to utilize the clock to their advantage and stave off the Tornado Sirens to post the historical 16-point win and improve to 10-2 overall.

Dallis paced ARRG with 39 points, followed by Shiner’s 34.

In the opener, ARRG’s Saint Lunachix beat the Twin City Derby Girls 151-86.
