ARRG

Starting Ability

You don't need to be a rockstar skater or know how to play the game, and very few recruits have ever played derby before. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, we're willing to train you to play. However, we'd like to see that you can skate at a moderate pace for 5 minutes straight and that you can skate on one foot, both left and right, for a few feet. This is just to ensure that you are stable on skates and ready to learn things like crossovers and stops.

Info Night & Tryouts

ARRG has an open-door recruitment policy, which means you can join anytime! We have two practices per week specifically designed to give new skaters the training they require. In addition to newbie practice nights, you will be welcome to attend any regularly scheduled Tuesday through Sunday league practice. When you are placed on a travel team, you will be eligible to attend Monday nights, as well.

The weekly practice schedule is as follows:

  • Monday (Evening): Advanced level focus
  • Tuesday (Evening): Off skates cross-training and league practice
  • Thursday (Evening): 2 practice options, Beginner and league practice
  • Sunday (Day): Beginner level practice
  • Where do I begin?

to get started! We'll send you the paperwork needed to join the league.
